Who are we?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We are SigurOnline.md<\/strong> \u2013 Moldova\u2019s platform for creating a safer online environment for children and young people. Whether you’re a child, a parent, a teacher, or simply someone who cares about child digital safety, we\u2019re here to support you with guidance, resources, and real help when it matters most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our journey began in\u00a02013<\/strong>, when siguronline.md was launched by the the International Center \u201eLa Strada\u201d<\/a>, an organization that has made online child safety a priority for over a decade. Back then, the internet was quickly becoming a central part of children\u2019s lives and we realized that while the digital world opens doors, it also comes with risks that children and families weren\u2019t fully prepared for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, we\u2019ve grown into a national center of expertise in online child protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2019<\/strong>, we took on the role of the Safer Internet Day (SID) Committee in Moldova<\/strong>, joining a global network of organizations that lead awareness efforts in their countries. Every February, we coordinate Safer Internet Day<\/strong> activities in Moldova, engaging schools, public institutions, and the wider community in conversations about online safety, digital responsibility, and positive use of technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022<\/strong>, we became part of the SIC+ (Safer Internet Centre Plus)<\/strong> program, which strengthened our connections with partners across Europe and gave us new tools to build a safer digital space for children at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then in 2023<\/strong>, we launched the SigurOnline Hotline<\/strong>, where anyone can report illegal or harmful content found online. It\u2019s a fast, safe, and confidential way to help remove abusive materials, especially those involving children, and ensure they are reported to the proper authorities. We are also a proud member of INHOPE<\/strong>, the global network of hotlines working together to combat child sexual abuse material on the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what makes us who we are is the everyday work we do to support and protect children. Together with public, private, and civil society partners, we manage the Safer Internet Centre in Moldova<\/strong> and here\u2019s what that looks like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
